Here is what he said to me: YOU CAN NEVER BE BETTER THAN GOD CAN YOU. That turned everything around me.
Much later I discovered Mathew chapter 6 and verse 33, where our Lord Jesus Christ taught us to put a priority on the kingdom of God and his righteousness and God will open doors to a fulfilled life for us. Listen to this:
Mathew 6:31-33 ( NRSV)
Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or “What will we drink?” or “What will we wear?” 32 for it is the Gentiles who strive for this things. 33 But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
There is a path to each person’s prosperity, and there is a power to get the wealth we need to live a fulfilled life on our earthly journey. Take a look at how the Scriptures put it in the following verses:
Do not say to yourself, “ My Power and the might of my own hand have gotten me this wealth.” 18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he that gives you the power to make wealth, so that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your ancestors, as he is doing today.
God gives the power and the wisdom to get wealth. But there is something else He does: He leads us to where we encounter the opportunities that lead us to increase and fulfillment. Again take a look at the following Scriptures:
Psalm 73:24 (NRSV)
You guide me with your counsel, and afterwards receive me honor.
Psalm 32: 8 (NRSV)
I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
Here is the reward of those who fear the LORD God Almighty in their lives. Their stories do not end at their death. God’s favor continues in their families as revealed here in Psalm 25:12-13(NRSV) Who are they that fear the Lord? He will teach them the way that the should choose. 13, They will abide in prosperity, and their children possess the land.
The call of God is to a life of faith and work. Those who answer the call receive blessings that make all the difference to life as revealed in proverb 10:22(NRSV)
22The blessing of the LORD makes rich and he adds no sorrow with it.
Begin this exciting journey of faith by saying this simple prayer of invitation:
Lord Jesus, please come into my heart now and be my lord and my savior. I believe You died for my sins. I believe You rose from the dead to give me new life .by Your grace, I enter this new life now. May Your Holy Spirit come and dwell within me to show me the way of life that will bring You glory and bring untold blessings into my life, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
